I have even created brand new Update Services GPO's to reflect the new computer groups I have created manually, but no matter what these three groups will show back up with all the client computers listed shortly after I have deleted them causing my computers to show up not only there but also in the new client-side groups I created. Since I have created my own groups for client-side targeting, these no longer need to be there but when I delete them they will automatically enable themselves again within a matter of 5 minutes and will show back up in the WSUS console.
If we uninstall any of the above components from the SBS 2008/2011 server, we may come across SBS Console crashing issues. Everything seems to be fine except I can not remove the three default computer groups that were set up by SBS initially. At time you may need to disable WSUS on SBS2008 or 2011 rather then uninstalling as on a SBS 2008/2011 server all the components like Exchange, SharePoint, WSUS, etc. Personally I do the following: 1) Change GPOs so it doesnt use WSUS (Remove the setting for an intranet proxy server) 2) Check WSUS settings and un-select all products and features. The easiest way to reclaim the disk space & still allow SBS Monitoring to audit your patches is to simply turn off approval for Server Updates and run the clean up wizard.
